Known for its excellence in British education, Brighton College Bangkok plans to open a Vibhavadi branch by 2025.
Brighton College Bangkok is set to open a second campus in Vibhavadi in 2025, extending its top-quality British curriculum. This new campus represents a continued commitment by the Assakul family, led by Nusara (Assakul) Banyatpiyaphod, Chair of the Brighton College Bangkok Board, to deliver world-class education within Thailand.
The school aims to cultivate well-rounded students who excel academically and culturally, adapting to both Thai and international contexts.
Brighton College Bangkok’s journey with British education in Thailand began in 1998 with St. Stephen’s International School, founded by investor and parent Kris Assakul.
The new Vibhavadi campus will build on this foundation while upholding the college’s educational standards. The Krungthep Kreetha campus, launched in collaboration with Brighton College UK, has earned international recognition, including winning “International School of the Year” in 2024 and being the only Thai school shortlisted three times for this prestigious award.
Nusara notes that the curriculum is crafted to spark curiosity, build confidence, and encourage kindness. Brighton College combines academic rigor with a range of extracurricular activities, from sports and performing arts to public speaking, helping students explore diverse interests and essential life skills.
Academics remain a cornerstone at Brighton College, with the British curriculum promoting critical thinking through interactive learning and in-depth discussions.
In addition to core subjects, students explore humanities through a blend of history, geography, and literature, connecting their studies to broader world contexts. Mandarin language instruction begins in the early years, giving students additional global skills.
Brighton College’s academic achievements are notable. In 2023, 80% of its A-Level students earned A*-A grades, with 47% achieving A*s, facilitating acceptance to top UK universities, Ivy League schools, and top Thai institutions. Offering 21 A-Level subjects, the Sixth Form allows students to tailor their studies toward individual goals.
Richard Cairns, Headmaster of the Brighton College Group, emphasizes respect for both Thai and British cultures. Students learn the importance of tradition, etiquette, and linking history to the present day.
The teaching staff, specialists in areas such as math, history, and science, contribute significantly to Brighton’s success. Faculty members engage students with creative approaches that connect academic theory to practical application. Nusara notes that the school values each student’s unique strengths, helping them reach their fullest potential.
With a 1.4 billion baht investment, the Vibhavadi campus will include advanced facilities for arts, STEM, and sports, creating a comprehensive environment for students from Early Years through IGCSE and A-Level. Conveniently located in Bangkok, the new campus aims to foster both academic and personal growth.
