On November 26, 2024, Bangkok Medical Software Co., Ltd (BMS) and Looloo Health announced the launch of PresScribe, an AI-powered solution designed to enhance healthcare services in Thailand. Integrated with BMS-HOSxP and BMS-HOSxP XE systems, PresScribe automates medical documentation by transcribing doctor-patient conversations and summarizing key details. This allows healthcare professionals to dedicate more time to patient care.
Developed by Looloo Health, a subsidiary of Looloo Technology, PresScribe uses Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service for its advanced speech-to-text functionality. It is specifically designed to handle complex medical terminology, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. With its ability to streamline administrative tasks, the tool reduces the burden on doctors, particularly in busy hospitals, and helps improve the quality of patient care.
PresScribe officially launched on November 1, 2024, and is already operational in 35 hospitals across the country. BMS plans to expand its availability nationwide, aiming to reduce documentation time for doctors by up to 80%.
Dr. Chanchai Limthongcharoen, Deputy Director of Banglamung Hospital, praised the system’s impact on consultations. He noted that PresScribe allows doctors to focus on patients instead of manual note-taking while ensuring all critical information is accurately documented.
For over two decades, BMS has provided healthcare management software to more than 90% of hospitals in Thailand. According to CEO Chaiyaporn Suratemekul, their collaborations with the Ministry of Public Health have driven initiatives like the COVID-19 vaccination recording system and the “30 Baht Treats All” program, which promotes accessible healthcare through innovative technology.
Looloo Health’s Head AI Specialist, Dr. Chiraphat Boonnag, emphasized the organization’s mission to improve healthcare quality in Thailand by reducing workloads for medical professionals. The partnership with Microsoft and BMS has made PresScribe a tool that enhances efficiency and ensures accurate medical records.
Microsoft Thailand’s Deputy Managing Director for Public Sector, Healthcare, and Education, Ms. Chanikarn Pronanun, highlighted the transformative potential of AI. She described PresScribe as a prime example of how Thai developers are using AI to empower healthcare professionals and lay the groundwork for future advancements in medical services.
