New healthcare facility offers essential maternity services to over 20,000 residents in Umphang District.
The Dhanin Tawee Chearavanont Foundation, in partnership with Umphang Hospital, officially opened the “Light of Heart” maternity unit in Baan Pengkleng, Umphang District, Tak Province.
The opening event brought together key attendees, including Mr. Sonngan Jaiyake, Deputy Director of the Tak Provincial Public Health Office; Dr. Worawit Tantiwatanasap, Director of Umphang Hospital; Dr. Wit Soontaranun, Treasurer and Committee Member of the Dhanin Tawee Chearavanont Foundation; Mr. Torsak Kirikarakade, Acting Director of Baan Pengkleng Subdistrict Health Promotion Hospital; Mr. Aphichat Sutchalaomalai, Village Headman of Baan Pengkleng; and Mr. Surapol Saengsong, Chairman of the Village Health Volunteers. Local residents and expectant mothers also attended.
This facility was constructed with a 5.9-million-baht donation from the Dhanin Tawee Chearavanont Foundation. The Bhuddharaksa Foundation added 850,700 baht to help equip the unit.
The “Light of Heart” maternity unit includes a delivery room, outpatient room, waiting room, emergency treatment room, malaria clinic, and a doctor’s consultation room.
