The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) has announced longer operating hours and festive events for Red Line passengers during the New Year holidays. Surapong Piyachote, Deputy Minister of Transport, stated that the Ministry of Transport is boosting convenience and safety for year-end travel across its networks.

Red Line trains will run until 2 a.m. on 31 December 2024, giving commuters more flexibility. Suthep Panpeng, Director-General of SRT Electrified Train (SRTET), highlighted the organisation’s efforts to support ministry policies through improved services and seasonal activities.

 

Red Line Red LineOn 25 December 2024, 2,568 Red Line mugs will be distributed to passengers at all stations. Santa-clad influencers and idol bands performing carols will add festive cheer. Passengers can also collect 2,568 Red Line herbal inhalers at ticket booths from 5:30 a.m. to midnight on 1 January 2025, while supplies last.

Starting 4 January 2025, a Pet-Friendly Train Weekend Service will allow passengers to bring pets on board every Saturday and Sunday, subject to specific rules.

Safety measures will be enhanced at all Red Line stations. Security guards, police, and K9 units will monitor high-risk areas, supported by CCTV systems and handheld radios for quick emergency responses.

SRTET continues to focus on upgrading transportation standards and promoting social responsibility. The network aims to connect suburban communities through fast, reliable, and secure transit services to improve residents’ quality of life.
