Google has officially introduced Gemini 2.0 Pro Experimental, its latest flagship AI model, alongside several other AI models, including Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking, which boasts enhanced logical reasoning capabilities.
In recent weeks, the tech industry has been closely following innovations from DeepSeek, a Chinese AI startup that has developed DeepSeek-R1, an AI model that operates at a lower cost than U.S.-based counterparts while delivering comparable or even superior performance. Businesses can access DeepSeek’s model affordably via the company’s API.
Gemini 2.0 Pro: Google’s New Flagship AI Model
Gemini 2.0 Pro follows Gemini 1.5 Pro, which Google launched in February last year. According to Google, this latest model is now the company’s flagship AI model.
In an official statement, Google described Gemini 2.0 Pro as its “most advanced model for coding tasks and complex commands, offering superior comprehension and reasoning capabilities for general knowledge.”
The model features an expanded context window of approximately 2 million tokens, allowing it to process around 1.5 million words in a single run. TechCrunch explains that Gemini 2.0 Pro can analyze the entire seven-book Harry Potter series in one go, with about 400,000 words to spare.
Gemini 2.0 Flash Now Available
Google has also officially released Gemini 2.0 Flash, making it accessible to all Gemini app users worldwide.
These advancements reinforce Google’s commitment to pushing AI innovation, offering more powerful reasoning and processing capabilities across its AI ecosystem.
