NIST International School welcomed Tokyo Governor Koike Yuriko and a delegation from the Board of Education during her visit to Thailand. The visit highlighted NIST’s reputation as a top international school, known for its dynamic and well-rounded educational approach.
Head of Secondary Angelo Coskinas introduced the school’s educational model, focusing on key elements: Academics, Expeditions, Activities, Service, and Wellbeing. These pillars reflect the school’s dedication to shaping independent, globally conscious learners prepared to take on real-world challenges.
Four Year 12 and 13 students then guided Governor Koike and her delegation on a campus tour, providing insights into the school’s inquiry-based curriculum. Conducted in both English and Japanese, the tour showcased significant learning spaces, including the Black Box Theatre, Design Technology studio, Film Class, Theatre, Elementary Building, and World Language classrooms.
Each stop on the tour demonstrated NIST’s commitment to fostering creativity, critical thinking, and cross-cultural awareness. As a token of appreciation, students presented handmade gifts crafted by various community service groups.
The delegation expressed gratitude for the visit, noting their admiration for the school’s forward-thinking education model and strong sense of community. They praised the innovative teaching methods and student achievements, recognizing NIST as an environment where learners are encouraged to excel and reach their full potential.
