Over 4,500 attendees witness Thailand’s progress towards becoming a regional leader in space innovation and technology.
Thailand Space Week 2024, Southeast Asia’s leading space technology event, concluded on November 9, 2024, at Impact Muang Thong Thani. The three-day event brought together over 4,500 attendees, reinforcing Thailand’s ambition to serve as a hub for space technology in the region.
Organized by the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (GISTDA) under MHESI, the event featured partnerships with over 70 organizations, including Japan’s Cabinet Office, ISPACE, Siemens, Thaicom, and PTT Public Company Limited. The exhibition showcased advancements in space technology across 100 booths.
The Thai government views the space sector as key to driving innovation and economic growth. Thailand Space Week aimed to unite academia, businesses, and the public through sessions led by global experts, networking opportunities, and hands-on workshops tailored to entrepreneurs and students.
Under the theme “Converging Technologies, Connecting People,” the event spotlighted practical uses of space technology, such as satellite solutions for disaster monitoring. It also encouraged Thai youth to pursue careers in the field by offering mentorship opportunities and educational guidance.
Thailand Space Week 2024 served as a platform for knowledge sharing and partnership-building among domestic and international stakeholders. By focusing on the economic value of innovation, the event showcased the role of space technology in Thailand’s journey to becoming a regional leader in the industry.
